Study of the Influence of a Variable Magnetic Field on the Parameters of a Plasma and the Radiation of a Gas Laser,
Abstract
The authors study the effect of a variable magnetic field with frequencies up to 50 KHZ on the emission of a HE-NE laser at the 0.63 micron wavelength and on the parameters of the discharge plasma. It is found that the modulation depth increases with an increase in the variable magnetic field strength and can reach 100%. An analysis of the spectral emission of the plasma in the wavelength range from 4471 to 6717 A showed that in the presence of an applied magnetic field up to 300 OE the spectral line intensity does not vary. An estimate is made of the electron temperature in the plasma by means of th spectral and probe methods. (Author)
