Method for Raising Resistance to Wear of Metallic Friction Pairs,

Abstract

The method of increasing their resistance to wear is by passing a current, which would join the two metals rubbing against each other. This is accomplished by introducing between the pieces of metal a medium with a resistance equal or less than the electric contact resistance of the rubbing pair. As a medium for this purpose an electroconducting, chemically netural lubricant is applied. (Author)
