The Contemporary State of Decontaminating Waste Water,

Abstract

A review is made of water pollution from the coke-chemical industry in the USSR. This is based on a study by the World Health Organization. A discussion is presented on the purification of concentrated phenol waste waters using activated silt. Performance data are presented for pilot plant results. It is stated that waste waters can be purified of phenols and thiocyamates in one stage.
