Asymptotics at Kappa to 1 in the Hypersonic Blunt Body Problem,

Abstract

The direct problem of a stationary two-dimensional (plane or axisymmetric) flow of a perfect gas past a blunt body at given Mach number is solved. The purpose is to find a strict asymptotic expansion of given gas dynamic values in the entire range of definition. Uniform evaluations are obtained in the region where the limit solution for pressure does not vanish. In this article an analysis method is described and the principal terms of the asymptotics of all desired functions are given for the case of a body with a finite radius of curvature of the nose.
