Dilatometer for Low Temperatures,

Abstract

An improved dilatometer with a He cryostat was developed to increase the accuracy of dilatometric determinations below 77K. Only the investigated body is heated; precautions are given as to how to avoid the temperature of the holder and holder stem from changing considerably during an experiment. The relative sensitivity for elongation is 1.6 x 10 to the minus 7th power, and the accuracy in the 30K range is plus or minus 5%. (Author)
