Quasi Analogs and Hybrid Computer Techniques,

Abstract

Existing computers are discussed with particular attention to the design features and capabilities of quasi analog and hybrid computer types. Application of the latter for calculating hydraulic systems, pipelines, heating and air conditioning installations are indicated. The Arkus Hybrid Integrator with a changeable structure is described as a multipurpose machine especially effective in solving a wide class of boundary value problems and ordinary differential equations to which numerous practical problems can be reduced. A principle is outlined for constructing hybrid integrators capable of solving a wide class of partial differential equations. (Author)
