Drum-Stand Clamping Apparatus for Aircraft Wheel Testing,

Abstract

The wheel being tested is fixed to a carriage which can be moved laterally on curved rails and by means of a gear sector to vary the wheel's angle of inclination to the test cylinder. A hydraulic cylinder operates a rack and pinion to turn the wheel in relation to the cylinder, and another hydraulic cylinder at the rear of the carriage housing varies the pressure of the wheel against the cylinder.
