Recrystallization of Sheet Nichrome Containing Dispersed Oxide Inclusions,

Abstract

A study is reported of the recrystallation processes of sheet nichrome containing ZrO2 and tests to measure hardness of the specimens prepared. Specimens were hot-worked and cold-worked. Findings showed that (1) the inclusion of oxide in nichrome is accompanied by a lowering of the temperature of beginning of recrystallization after cold plastic deformation; (2) dispersed inclusions of ZrO2 prevent the flow of the process of collecting recrystallization of nichrome, shifting it in the direction of high temperatures.
