Project Deep Ops Equipment Development

Abstract

The report describes the special equipment developed in support of Project Deep Ops, a program to determine the feasibility of using trained pilot and killer whales to aid in the recovery of pingered objects from the ocean floor. The major pieces of equipment developed were a mouthpiece, a target attachment device, a practice target, a backpack, and a transport system.
