The Thermoelectric Power Generator as an Electric and Heat Installation,

Abstract

The formulas obtained for the mode of maximum electrical power and for the mode of maximum efficiency are the generalization of the classical results of the theory of thermoelectric devices for the case of a practicable thermoelectric generator (TEG) with an arbitrary number of output terminals, an arbitrary internal structure, and an arbitrary nature of distribution of physical properties by individual elements of the thermoelectric circuit. A TEG which possesses an arbitrary internal structure and possess N output terminals is equivalent to a pyramidal 2N-terminal network composed of N active and 1/2 N(N+1) passive elements independent from one another. The output parameters of the 2N-terminal network are connected with the physical properties of the elements of its internal structure. (Author)
