Transformation of the Hypersonic Compressible Navier-Stokes Equations.

Abstract

A transformation for the hypersonic compressible Navier-Stokes equations which to a large extent eliminates the necessity of specifying far field and/or boundary condition parameters is presented. Both no-slip no-temperature jump and first-order velocity slip and temperature jump surface boundary conditions are considered. The transformation should be of interest to investigators seeking numerical or analytical solutions for the Navier-Stokes equations. (Author)
