Tables for Multiple-Server Queueing Systems Involving Erlang Distributions.

Abstract

Recent theoretical work has provided the means whereby numerical results can be obtained on the steady-state behavior of multiple-server queueing systems involving Erlang (gamma) distributions. The report presents the results of a comprehensive computational project undertaken to obtain these data. One set of tables gives the complete probability distribution of the number of customers in the system for 16 different values of rho (utilization factor) for 19 multiple-server systems having a Poisson input process and Erlang service times. Accompanying tables summarize (1) probability of waiting, (2) expected number in the queue, and (3) expected number in the system for these same cases. The summary information also is presented for 25 systems having Erlang interarrival times as well, and the complete distribution is given for rho = 0.9. (Author)
