Professional Opportunities in Safety.
Abstract
The report investigates current professional opportunities in safety. The data were gathered through the ditribution of 435 questionnaires to a nationwide sample of industries. Of the 135 usable returns, 26.6% felt that their companies could use a masters level engineer in their safety organization. The job descriptions did not vary significantly among industries, but did change with company size. The starting salaries were approximately the same, but potential earnings increased with company size. (Author)
