Parameter Identification of Minimal Realizations.

Abstract

The report is concerned with the problem of identifying the unknown parameters of a multiple-input/multiple-output, linear, constant, discrete time system from measurements made on the inputs and the outputs. The class of systems to be considered must satisfy the requirements of a specified canonical form. Necessary and sufficient conditions for systems to satisfy this canonical form are given, and as demonstrated by the examples in the report, a large class of useful systems falls into the category for which this identification algorithm is applicable.
