Abstract
2,2' - Bipiperidine was reduced by aluminium in an aqueous-alcoholic solution of alkali. 2-(Biperidil-2) pyridine was obtained, the hydrogenation of which with sodium in isoamyl alcohol led to the formation of the erythro - and threo - isomers of 2,2' - bipiperidine. The separation of isomers was achieved by N,N' - diacetyl derivatives. (Author)
