Regarding the Wear of Engine Crankshaft Bearings in Transient Conditions,

Abstract

The zone of contact of generating lines is determined for transition regimes for engine crankshaft bearings. As the regime is established at which oil film with adequate amount of lubricant is fed, the zone of contact of the generating lines disappears. In order to preserve bearings against wear when engine is running in transition regimes, automatic control of lubricant feed must be introduced into the design of the oil system. (Author)
