The Pressure on the Elastic Half-Space of a Die, with a Plan Profile of an Infinite System of Parallel Lines,
Abstract
An investigation was made of the contact problem of the pressure in the elastic half-space of a die which has, in plan, the form of a periodic system of a band of connected dies. A comparison of the distribution of the pressure under the band (over its width) of the periodic die and under the die-band shows that when the width of the gap is equal to twice the width of the band, then it is possible to disregard the effect of neighbouring bands.
