LODCAP - Recreational Small Boat Live Load Capacity Computer Program,

Abstract

A computer program is described which may be used to determine the maximum load which a craft floating in calm water is capable of supporting. This is accomplished by solving the following problem: 'Given the hull geometry, location of above water hull openings, and initial ship weight and center of gravity position, find the magnitude of the variable weight to be placed in a prescribed location such that the resulting static equilibrium sinkage, trim and heel brings one or more of the hull openings down to, but not below, the water surface.'
