Methods for Determining the Figure and Gravity Field of the Moon (Metody Opredeleniya Figury i Gravitatsionnogo Polya Luny),

Abstract

Five methods presently available for determining the figure and gravity field of the moon are considered in this work: the hydrostatic theory, observations of the physical libration of the moon, the motion of the perigee and the node of the lunar orbit, the trajectory variations of the motion of artificial satellites of the moon and the observable topography. The obtained information makes it possible to propose some hypotheses concerning the internal structure of the moon. (Author)
