Methods of Analysis for Very Thick Walled Cylindrical Shells.

Abstract

There is an increasing need for higher performance hydrospace simulators in the United States Navy. Both larger size and higher pressure capability are required to test more realistic structural components under increasingly higher performance conditions under carefully controlled laboratory conditions. The simulators, in general, are shell type structures involving cylindrical sections. Methods of analysis are developed herein for very thick cylindrical, isotropic shells. (Author)
