High-Energy Pulsed Liquid Laser.

Abstract

The primary emphasis in this report is on the performance of the long pulse liquid laser oscillator. Included is a brief review of the components of the subsystems and a detailed description of the assembly of the circulatory subsystem, the drying procedure required for preparation of the system to accept the laser liquid and the actual filling with the laser liquid. Experimental work related to the study of thermal effects is reported and a model, consistent with the experimental results, is proposed. A discussion of some design problems that have arisen with the present laser system and their resolution in a new laser system that has already been designed and is under construction. The relationship of the new laser design to the course of the future work is also discussed. (Author)
