System Selection Guidance for Bulk Fuel Tank Vapor Emission Control.

Abstract

The purpose of this report is to provide system selection guidance and design criteria for the control of vapor emissions from Navy volatile fuel storage tanks in order to meet the regulations established by the Environmental Protection Agency. These regulations primarily affect those facilities storing motor gasoline (MOGAS), aviation gasoline (AVGAS), and JP-4 aviation turbine fuel (JP-4). War reserve storage and underground storage of JP-4 are to be excepted. Although fuel transfer operations are also covered by the regulations, only storage facilities are treated in this report.
