Navy Logistics Information Sharing (NAVLIS). Navy Logistics Management Information Requirements Methodology. Volume I. Methodology Description.

Abstract

The document describes a methodology for identifying Navy logistics information requirements for specific decision centers. It incorporates techniques for arranging responsibilities, decisions, and information requirements into homogeneous groupings and for identifying significant relationships between data elements of information and the responsibilities and decisions of logistics managers. Methodology tools such as reference matrices, charts, indices, catalogs, and worksheets are described in detail and examples of their use are provided. Although the Methodology was developed for analysis of Navy logistics information requirements, the Methodology is adaptable to other applications which require information classification schemes.
