Investigation of Friction Surfaces of Porous Iron-Based Materials,

Abstract

The paper investigates the state of friction surfaces of porous materials based on iron after protracted operation under self lubricating conditions. Specimens with a bearing surface of 2 sq cm were made from a charge based on reduced iron powder by pressing to a porosity of 25 percent with subsequent sintering. All specimens were saturated with oil before testing. (Author)
