Symposium of Representatives of Geodetic Services of the Socialist Countries on Electronic Measurement of Distance (Simpozium Predstavitelei Godezicheskikh Sluzhb Sotsialisticheskikh Stran po Elektronnym Metodam Izmereniya Rasstoyanii),

Abstract

The regular Fifth Symposium of Representatives of Geodesic Services of Socialist Countries on Electronic Methods of Measuring Distances was held at Prague (Czechoslovak Socialist Republic) in October, 1970. Reports on the following main trends were presented: Methods of raising the accuracy of physical reductions in electromagnetic measurements of distances; Reduction of the effect of reflected radiowaves on the accuracy of radar rangefinder measurements; Reference standardizing of electronic rangefinders and investigation of instrumental errors; Development of new and improvement of existing rangefinders; Generalization of the operating experience of rangefinders in different kinds of geodesic work; and Use of electronic rangefinders in other applied problems and the partial automation of topographic, geodesic work.
