Abstract

Shock-ionized air data (8 < or = (M sub s) < or = 12, 1 < or = (P sub i) 20 torr) obtained from a previous analysis of microwave transmission measurements have been reevaluated, introducing corrections to account for the sidewall waveguide slots. The report describes the nozzle-waveguide test section used in the original study, discusses the computational method that may be used in evaluating the transmitted wave data, and presents graphs of correction factors as functions of the previously calculated electron density (N) and collision frequency (nu).
