Statistical Properties of a Turbulent Boundary Layer with Surface Mass Injection,

Abstract

A detailed experimental study of the statistical properties of an isothermal turbulent boundary layer with mass addition is presented. The experiments were conducted using a subsonic combustion wind tunnel facility. Linearized constant temperature hot-film anemometry techniques were used to measure the statistical properties across the boundary layer. These results represent a preliminary set of data which describe the effect of surface mass injection on basic turbulent parameters and on parameters which model the turbulent kinetic energy equation.
