Evidence of the M(o) Nature of the 2.1-2.3 eV Transitions in Germanium,

Abstract

Band population effects have been observed in electroreflectance spectra of n-type germanium at 2.1-2.3 eV. These results suggest that the transitions contributing to structure in this energy range arise from M(o) critical points at L (on the Brillouin zone boundary), rather than from M(1) critical points in the zone interior.
