How Readable are Technical Handbooks,

Abstract

A study was made in development of a system of scales for measuring the readability of technical manuals. Information was needed on how manuals and handbooks are being used, how often, what aspects of the manuals are particularly disturbing to technicians, and how well technicians understand technical language. A survey was made of technicians serving in the Republic of Viet Nam, and the results are discussed. (Author)
