Grays Harbor Estuary, Washington. Report 3. Westport Small-Boat Basin Study; Hydraulic Model Investigation.

Abstract

The existing, comprehensive fixed-bed model of the Grays Harbor estuary was used to determine current velocities, surface current patterns, flushing and dispersion characteristics, and qualitative shoaling rates and patterns for four small-boat basin plans located near Westport, Wash. Waste material discharged from the proposed Westport sewage outfall would enter the proposed basin during both ebb and flood currents, but maximum concentrations in the basin would only be on the order of 0.01 percent of the initial concentration at the outfall.
