MARDS Antenna Design for Seismic Detection Systems.

Abstract

A theoretical and experimental program has been conducted to determine an optimal antenna design for use with the MARDS (Medium Artillery Delivered Sensors) seismic detection system. Several models of MARDS antennas (vertically polarized) were evaluated over a frequency range of 100 to 200 MHz in the laboratory, in an anechoic chamber, and at an outdoor antenna range. Also, several test dipole and monopole antennas were designed and evaluated within this frequency range for optimum performance with the TDV (terminal delivered vehicle) of the system. (Author)
