Investigation of the Thermophysical Properties of Certain Polymers,

Abstract

Thermal conductivity, specific heat and enthalpy of nylon, PVC, and polypropylene are investigated in the temperature range of 20 to 280 C and the pressure range of 1 to 65 bar. The thermophysical properties depend on the density of the polymer; the nature of this relationship differs for crystalline and amorphous polymers. With an increase in molecular weight of crystalline polymers the value of thermophysical indices is increased. (P.S.-PL)
