U. S. Technology -- Decline or Rebirth,

Abstract

In spite of many studies by technologists and economists, the quantitative role of technology in advancing an economy is not yet evident. Nevertheless, in the case of the U. S., it would appear, as indicated by qualitative studies, that the rapid growth of the U. S. economy in the past in both service and manufacturing sectors is intimately related to the historical U. S. ability to develop and exploit technology. (Author)
