Abstract

The research program is devoted to the study of infectious diseases and their vectors of military importance in Latin America. The investigations reported within this report are primarily directed toward the organisms Leishmania braziliensis and Venezuelan equine encephalomyelitis, and the general biological factors pertaining to phlebotomine sandflies as vectors of cutaneous leishmaniasis.
