Acoustic Radiation and Scattering from Two Eccentrically Positioned Spheres.

Abstract

Problems of acoustic radiation and scattering from a pair of finite sized eccentrically positioned spheres are analyzed. Solutions are obtained for the radiated and scattered waves in the form of series of wave harmonics. The analysis leads to infinite sets of linear algebraic equations for the unknown modal pressure coefficients. Approximate solutions are obtained by truncating to finite size and solving numerically. The radiation impedance and farfield directivity of an arbitrary spherical source within a fluid sphere (idealization of spherical acoustic lens with internal focal point) is computed. (Author)
