Equations of State for Geologic Materials

Abstract

The report considers data and mathematical models for geological materials subjected to shock loading. The high pressure equation of state is a modification of the Tillotson form. The modifications include accounting for energy due to vaporization and for irreversible compaction. This report extends previous work by the same authors by taking into account release adiabat data in selecting empirical coefficients for the equations of state.
