Cartographic Data Base Design Study. Volume I. Concept.

Abstract

The report describes the concept and experimental implementation of a digital cartographic data base. The data base has been implemented on the HIS 635 computer at Rome Air Development Center (RADC) using the COBOL and Integrated Data Store (IDS) language. The experimental data base is a part of the RADC Advanced Cartographic System being developed for the Defense Mapping Agency Aerospace Center (DMAAC) and is used for the storage and retrieval of lineal cartographic data.
