Comparison of Different Systems for Estimating Deposits on Engine Pistons,

Abstract

The cited data is a first attempt to compare the various methods for evaluating deposits from oil in automobile engines. It was found that in spite of the similarity of the principles of designing evaluation systems, all methods give various evaluations and are difficult to compare from the practical standpoint. Further investigation should make it possible either to establish a regular relationship between the various evaluation systems or, to create a new system.
