Investigation of Antiferromagnetic Transformations in Some Compounds of Manganese,

Abstract

Physical properties of MnSe-MnTe solid solutions were studied. The coefficient of linear expansion was measured as a function of temperature at 100-600K. The dependence of the Neel temperature on the distance of the nearest atoms was deduced from these measurements. Transformations at 260-270 and 180-160K were revealed by x-rays. Neutron diffreaction studies were carried out at 110 and 290K. The magnetic moment variations of Mn ions were plotted as a function of temperature as determined from the (101) reflection intensity.
