Acoustical Diagnostics of Mechanisms,

Abstract

The report discusses the theory of technical diagnosis based on an analysis of noise in mechanisms. The most important element of engineering activity is the correct formulation of the problem. Therefore, a great deal of attention is devoted in the book to the formulation of technical diagnostic problems and the definition of fundamental concepts. The theory and methods of techncial diagnosis which are based on an analysis of the acoustical signal emitted by the mechanism are presented in a readily understandable form. These methods are the instruments which are constructed on the basis of these methods can be used for the quality control of finished products, for determining machine requirements for service and repairs during the operational period, and also for scientific studies.
