A Procedure for Selecting Distribution Functions for Certain Meteorological Elements Using the Minsk-22 Electronic Computer,

Abstract

The broad introduction of statistical methods into meteorology requires a study of the distribution of recurrences of individual meteorological elements by graduations, described by differential distribution laws (DDL). For DDL one of the coauthors has proposed a system consisting of a linear combination of exponents having advantage over others in that it is easy to integrate and differentiate. An algorithm for selecting the parameters for two functions from the mentioned system is examined. (Author)
