Oxidizability of Filled Lubricants,

Abstract

Fillers, e.g. mica, MoS2, and graphite (2 to 15%) increased the oxidation stability of greases independently of the basic oil composition or the thickener. The stability of the greases increased with increasing filler content. The fillers adsorbed the polar molecules of the oil and dissolved O2 and oxidation initiators. (Author)
