Calculation of the Surface Temperature of a Metallic Target Heated by Laser Emission Operating in the Free Generation Mode,

Abstract

Derivation of experessions is given for calculating the surface temperature of a metal target heated by a single laser light pulse or sequences of pulses. The relationship between single pulse heating and integral heating, the threshold power density, and the target breakdown power density can be determined from these expressions when the mean and statistical parameters of laser light pulses are given.
