Antifriction and Friction Cermet Materials,

Abstract

The report reviews recent developments in the field of antifriction and friction powder metallurgy materials. The effects of Fe, Cu, Sn, Pb, Mo, W, and Zn sulfides on the antifrictional properties of sintered materials are examined. Special attention is given to materials working at high temperatures, without lubricants, and in vacuum or inert gases. The behavior of materials under high friction conditions is examined, and the effect of various additions on the frictional properties of iron base materials is discussed. (Author)
