TRIAD I, Incremental Phase Shifter, Subsystems Design.

Abstract

The Incremental Phase Shifter evolved as a solution to the problem of adjusting orbiting satellite oscillators to a high degree of precision, which ultimately provides flexibility in the adjustment of precision timing marks from the satellite. The unit is an all electronic, solid state device. It is basically digital and locked to the existing satellite oscillator. The techniques used provide a continuous range of tuning with linear resolution surpassing parts in 10 to the 12th power. (Author)
