Engineering Methods for Studying Impact Processes (Selected Parts),

Abstract

The report deals with impact processes as applied to many contemporary structures, machines and instruments. Various structures are studied under the effect of intense loads of pulsed nature. Several basic trends in the study of impact are discussed going back to the first works done in this area. Various concepts and theories are discussed dealing with momentum, recovery factor, mechanics of solid body, wave theory, local contact stresses, elastic impact etc. (Author)
