Geomagnetic Time Variations on the Sea Floor off Southern California.

Abstract

Data from 12 geomagnetic stations on the sea floor off southern California have been analyzed to infer the structure of electrical conductivity within the oceanic basement. The best fitting conductivity model has a significantly lower conductivity within the basement than that inferred by Cox and others from magnetotelluric measurements. (Author)
