Microphysical Observations of Fog in Redwood Valley near Arcata-Eureka, California.

Abstract

Bonner,Robert S. ;White,Hugh M. ;DA-1-T-061102-B-53-A1-T-061102-B-53-A-20ECOM5455(*fog, micrometeorology), (*climate, california), air mass analysis, sampling, graphics, meteorological phenomenafog dispersalThe Atmospheric Sciences Laboratory, U.S. Army Electronics Command, White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), New Mexico, participated in a joint Army-Navy warm fog research program in Redwood Valley near Arcata, California, during the month of October 1971. Microphysical and meteorological data were taken on four dates throughout the life cycles of the fogs. Three of the fogs appeared to be of a mixed type while the fourth may have been classified as a radiation type. The complete data are presented with a brief analysis and discussion of the parameters sampled. (Author)
