A Description of the DFAN Bidirectional Relfectometer and Bidirectional Reflectance Characteristics of Stainless Steel 304

Abstract

The characteristics of the bidirectional reflectometer designed, constructed, and operated in the Department of Aeronautics, USAF Academy are described and discussed. The reflectometer is shown to be an adequate device for studying reflectance of thermal radiation from prepared engineering surfaces. Data obtained from two samples of stainless steel 304 is presented.
