Study and Investigation Roll/Cut Film Reader/Printer.

Abstract

*MICROFILM READER-PRINTERS, *READER PRINTERSThe program is an engineering study and breadboard effort to investigate the feasibility of design and production of a dual format microfilm reader/printer. The formats of specific interest were COSATI Microfiche and 3M type cartridge mounted 16 mm roll film. No such device existed. One of the goals was to achieve a relatively low reader/printer cost in production quantities. The study revealed that such a device could be produced meeting the intent of the preliminary specifications. A breadboard unit based on modifying and adding to a commercial reader/printer was fabricated which met most of them. A drawing specification and usage information concerning the breadboard unit are presented in the appendix. (Author)
